The Teachings of Sufi Stories
November 2016

The Australian Centre for Sufism and Irfanic Studies will be running a four part series exploring and expanding the teachings of Sufi stories.

Sufi stories have played an important role in Sufism over the centuries due to their remarkable ability as a vehicle to deliver experiential learning by bypassing our defences, often using humour. In this way, they can expand our awareness, opening us to have a glimpse into the deeper aspect of ourselves.

Whilst these stories have different meanings, according to the levels of standing and understanding of those who reflect on them, we will focus our reflections through the lens of the essential components of the Sufi path such as:
• The nature of the self and reality
• Why are we here
• Travelling the path and learning the pitfalls

This four part series will give you the opportunity to reflect more deeply on yourself and your life and connect to the timeless wisdom of Sufism through the stories presented.
